"Face the Dragon" is a VR experience in which you will be transported to a fantasy world (similar to the one of D&D). Using the last technology, we aim to create a untethered VR experience, making possible for the player to walk in the real world and be tracked to the virtual world. This experience is aimed to be played with 3 or more players, in a collaborative way, facing orcs and minor enemies until they face a dragon after 2:30 min of gameplay. The players will be using VR Motion controllers to simulate fantasy weapons such as: swords, bows, magical staffs and maces. ...learn more

Methodology / Approach

For this project we want to push the limits of VR image quality further of today standards. Modifying the source code of the Unreal Engine we want to create a fixed FOV render system, that changes the resolution in the center of the vision of the HMD screen and make the outside of the FOV blurry.
Also, we want to make the game run to the limits of the Nuc 8 VR machine, and profiling it using the Intel GPA as well as the other profiling tools from Unreal Engine.
In the end we want also to try the Wireless tech for HTC Vive, being that the best one available (or to put the Nuc8 VR in a backpack)
