The Problem:

In the era of COVID-19 and the global pandemic, it has been more important than ever for doctors and health care professionals to have access to tools and technology for "contactless care". This is especially due to the fact that the infection rate among health care professionals has been as high as 20% within Europe:

Modern health care systems have a "single point of failure" when it's time for doctors and staff to enter in the data records into the computer. This is due to the fact that doctors and staff have SHARED ACCESS to a limited number of computers in the hospitals.

Methodology / Approach

The Solution:

"VoiceWeb NLP" is a server framework, and works exactly as the name implies: users can use their voice with Natural Language Processing to talk to web pages. This enables health care professionals to use phrases like: " The date of birth of Mr. Hopkins is October 15, 1999" , or " The patient was born on the 15 of October in 1999". In either case, the VoiceWeb NLP framework will fill in the fields on the HTML page that represent the date of birth.

In order to enable proper hygiene and to prevent contagion among doctors and nurses, users of VoiceWebNLP speak into the microphones of their mobile phones instead of using a shared microphone (or headset) connected to the computer. The text is transcribed on the server, and the form data is refreshed on web form.

The end result is that health care professionals have a completely contactless experience and can create health care data records for their patients safely and rapidly, without touching a keyboard or mouse.

Technologies Used

"VoiceWeb NLP" is a software framework of technologies that:

  1. Use Intel Core i9 and i7 CPUs on web servers for voice transcription
  2. Use AI and NLP to enable the user to describe in natural language the data that they want entered into the form
  3. Does NOT require browser plugins, and work with all standard HTML5 compliant browsers
