Overview / Usage
The Risen is a game that lets you command a horde of skeletons with voice commands while reaching in with your hands and collecting the souls of fallen knights. You can also raise new skeletons from knights you have slain by summoning the power of evil and raising them from the dead.
We created this game as an entry into the RealSense App Challenge with the intention of exploring a cool new feature of RealSense: emotion detection. Using it, we let the player build evil power by making an angry face which would fill an evil meter and give them glowing green eyes. We also utilized a feature of RealSense called image segmentation, or background removal, to put the player into the game itself. The result was a unique and fun experience that actually gives players the feeling of being an evil overlord.
