Description

Autonomous agents are entities that act independently using artificial intelligence. The artificial intelligence defines the operational parameters and rules by which the agent must abide. The agent responds dynamically in real time to its environment, so even a simple design can result in complex behavior.

This application implements three steering behaviors: Seek, Arrive, and Obstacle Avoidance. The environment is dynamically generated by the Intel RealSense R200. The user can move the goal around the environment, and the agent will navigate autonomously to it while avoiding obstacles.

The code is open source and available in the Github repo linked below. An article describing this work is linked below.

This is pretty amazing. You have real object avoidance. That is very cool. You could do something like Atari Tank but augemented with a real maze you create on your floor. Or add some real robots with virtual weapons and you've opened a whole new world of game play.
