Overview / Usage

My proposed Custom Mod for the PC MOD Level Up Challenege by Intel is titled Staggered Futures.

I will be going along with a white and blue theme that is fitting with the Be Quiet 802 and the Intel Blue colours. The case itself will be stripped and parts will be used in what is effectively a scratch/case mod.

The motherboard tray will be removed along with the PSU Shroud and majority of retaining structure, the motherboard tray will then be relocated to face towards the front of the build at a staggered angle leaning backwards slightly. in front of the motherboard will be a similarly angled GPU and Block that will be slightly lower, then finally there will be a single reservoir located in the middle at the front bottom part of the build.

The new "case" will now be handmade white gloss panels that will start of large and widespread at the base and form round to the top in a scorpion tail style. The end of the "tail" will feature a chopped and modified part of the front panel of the 802 featuring the mesh grill, hexagonal frame and thee black side intakes that will taper off at the end, this will hold 2x 140mm RGB fans.

Trying to render this idea is most certainly proving to be a very difficult task so I created some drawings to give a rough idea of how the design will look when finished.

The entire build will be clean, white with blue accents and blue pulsating mood lighting that will glow between each white panel. At the top I will also be housing a custom made light that when powered on will display the intel logo onto the wall behind it above the system.

Inside the frame will be the PSU with custom blue and white sleeved cables going to the motherboard and GPU. The pump will also be hidden within this frame and hidden away leaving only the main components on display to give an ultra clean aesthetic. The custom watercooled loop will also be staggered to match the theme with some blue coolant.

The idea of the design is to really emphasise the theme of the contest with a futuristic and innovative design that takes away from the standard box format that we all know of currently but keeps key aspects. It focuses on symettry and cleanliness whilsty also holding an intimidating presence of power that is fitting with Intels current marketing techniques of power and efficiency.

I will be producing a video to attach to this too that will detail things in a little more detail very shortly.

Methodology / Approach

I am an ex carpenter so working with wood and hand tools is something that I specialise in. I will be using hand tools, power tools and my skill to create and implement each design aspect. I dont have 3d printers, cnc machines etc so all my work will be personally produced to my high standards.

I am a tech reviewer and videographer currently and I mainly produce reviews on computer hardware and components on my channel Gadget Joe, however I do often build systems and have featured in a Modding Contest a few years back.

Technologies Used

I work very well from my mind, I have a vivid strong imagination that mostly stems from my severe OCD which means that attention to detail is very much a key priority. I write a lot of notes, sketch ideas and like to think outside the box to deliver the wow factor with everything that I do.
