Overview / Usage

The PC build will showcase the theme of the contest which is "Future of Innovation". It will incorporate a one-of-a-kind 3D lamp that illuminates a three-dimensional photo of Intel's Arc Alchemist that sits atop of the PC. Flowing outward from the base of the lamp will be multi-colored lines like that of a schematic. Five lines flowing from one side will go down to individual words that describe innovation and are used as an anagram of "INTEL", which will be painted at the bottom of the panel (see attached picture for better visual. Noted that only four lines on each side show in picture, but build will have the correct number of lines).

On the other side of the base will be five more schematic lines that will flow down the glass side of the case. One line will outline the CPU, another will point toward the four sticks of RAM, a third will flow down to the GPU, the fourth will direct you to the PSU, and a fifth will showcase the SSD. Each being a vital and integral part of what makes up a PC. In the center of the glass the phrase "Powering Innovation" (this is not shown in picture included, but will be on the final build) will be painted, and is the name/theme of this build.

The front panel will have an Intel logo painted onto the white mesh panel.

Being this would be my first every PC build, I kept the project within the realm of what I know my abilities and finances can handle. This ensures that I can meet each of the needed aspects of the build and deliver on the vision I have set forth. The diagrams used to illustrate are not how the finished project will look (thank goodness I know). I will be able to use tools that will enable me to make the lines much cleaner and straight.

Methodology / Approach

The project will entail using paint to draw out the schematic type lines and the wording on both panels, as well as the Intel logo on the front panel. The 3D lamp will be acquired through the website that is linked with this project and will fasten to the top of the PC using Velcro. I chose Velcro so that it can be easily removed without damaging the case in any way in case the lamp needs repair or replacing. Also, by using Velcro I will be able to turn the 3D lamp in different directions in order to maximize the view of the lamp.

Five colors will be used to paint the lines and words on the one side of the PC, as can be seen in the picture included of the anagram for Intel. Under that line will be an illuminous paint that will provide a way seeing the lines and wording once the lights go out. This should present an ominous glow to match the 3D lamp sitting on top of the PC.

The 3D lamp that will be used will be acquired through the company 3D Optical Lamp (link provided). It will take a picture of Intel's Arc Alchemist and bring it to life in a glowing 3D version. The lamp will cost approximately $65 before taxes. It will be powered via an electrical cord that will have to be plugged into a wall outlet.

I will use stencils to paint the lettering on both sides of the case. The anagram wording will be in block style lettering, while the "Powering Innovation" on the glass will be in a cursive style lettering (see images for examples of stencils). I intend on making a grid that will allow me to make sure the spacing between the letters is even both vertically and horizontally. As for the schematic type lines, I will use a straight edge item like a ruler to ensure they are straight, as well as marking off the side of the panel to make the lines remain straight.
