Meat Sense is an IoT oven powered by an Intel Edison and an Amazon Echo. The Edison is used monitor onboard sensors and provide device control. The Echo is used to provide natural voice based interface to Meat Sense. The device uses an onboard infrared temperature sensor and air quality sensor to monitor food temperature and detect overcooked and burning food. The Echo is used to program the device and check on food status through hands free voice interaction. The goal of Meat Sense is to showcase the types of interactions possible with an IoT device with an ambient voice interaction. Meat Sense will be demoed at Intel's Expo Location at SxSW 2016.
