Project uses computer vision to find items such as turtle tracks along beaches for a animal conservation project.

Description

Project uses DJI mobile sdk to interpret the video stream coming from the DJI drone. OpenCv is used to process the frames and send the results to a google map. Project also includes flying a waypoint missions and FPV flying. Here is a brief video showing the project to date:

So far we have the following abilities:

  1. FPV
  2. use openCv to analyze the video stream and recognize tracks in the sand.
  3. Place points on the map to later return and protect the turtle nests.
  4. Use waypoints to automate the missions.

The next steps is to use the program with beaches which have turtle tracks in Costa Rica in late July.
