AI Assistant Telefraud Threat Detection Proof of Concept
Protection from telephone and internet fraud is a big concern for everyone but is especially important for children and older adults. Such protection will be provided by our home AI Assistant devices and cloud service by utilizing IBM Watson voice technologies to transcribe spoken words to text, in real time, then running the transcription results through machine learning models pre-trained to detect common fraud scripts. The goal of this project is to demonstrate a real world scenario in which calls can be placed from or received iby using the VoIP phone solution from Microsoft, aka Phone System in Cloud -- whether they terminate in or originate frpm a VoIP system or the PSTN -- and real time transcription of the conversations can be obtained from IBM Watson Speech To Text service, then routed to machine learning models to detect potential fraud patterns. This is one of several projects we've initiated as part of our entry into the IBM Watson AI XPRIZE competition. Our team is building an AI Assistant platform to help protect privacy and increase security in cyberspace. This solution, combining a unique hardware device and sophisticated cloud technologies, will safely connect families, including children and older adults, and allow them to access Internet resources and interact and share content in a protected environment. A computer-generated AI character will foster natural interactions and provide users with visual and oral feedback and guidance.
