Video Production

Intel Technologies
Intel Iris Xe MAX, Intel Deep Link

Overview / Usage

Demand for virtual production is rising. Not only stream an event but also with the quality of good broadcasting for a personal event such as an engagement party, birthday party, event wedding. In Indonesia, most of the events have a covid safety protocol, so to be able to share their event with their family and colleague, they need to stream it.

This means mobile/remote virtual production tools are needed to setup the production. We need a decent laptop on the venue that can run streaming apps (OBS) quite well. Without proper hardware, the laptop need to compute a lot of thing from capturing the event via camera/webcam (perhaps multiple camera for different angel), run zoom/teams to show the online audience in the offline event (using projectors or TV), and stream the event live to the internet (Youtube or Twitch).

In this case, I want to these intel latest generation chip, the 11th gen, with the discreet GPU Intel Xe Max, which has been empowering OBS to handle this kind of job. I'm going to test it to produce a virtual event for my family member's engagement party in early January. I will have time to tinkering around and testing the Intel Xe Max capability and later on will post the result on my blog and youtube channel regarding remote virtual production.

Methodology / Approach

I will use Intel 11th gen + Xe Max to broadcast the engagement event. The setup will use two cameras/webcam, an external audio source (mic), output to LCD and Big Screen, Use DAW to process the Audio, use OBS to capture the scene, layout the scene, and stream the scene.

Technologies Used

VivoBook Flip 14 with Intel Xe Max, OBS, Ableton Live/VoiceMeeter Potato, Elgato Stream Deck, Korg Nanokontrol 2, Rode Podmic, Focusrite Solo, Logitech Webcam, etc
