Overview / Usage
Project Passion is a custom PC build that challenges you to rethink how personal computing on the go can be like. There are power users out there that find themselves constantly pushing their laptop to their limit while still needing more from their workstation. This build proves that incredibly fast hardware is still achievable in a mobile form factor with full functionality at it's heart.
Methodology / Approach
Here at LiquidHaus, we like building PCs slightly outside the norm, yet still possible for anyone else to replicate. We break the mold and use as many different brands as possible, rarely keeping a single brand ecosystem within a build. Oftentimes we find better solutions by meshing several brands together rather than being restricted within the confines of a singular product's limiting ecosystem.
Blending the durability that Pelican cases is known for, with the delicate nature of PC hardware was something we had done only just prior to this build, and so we knew it was possible and also highly applicable to multiple industries. With this build, that same concept is proven again, albeit on a much more compact scale.
Technologies Used
We utilized Fusion360 to create a skeletal frame for the PC hardware to bolt onto, and a CNC mill to fabricate the aluminum chassis. The frame and monitor screen are then locked into their respective positions with industrial strength Velcro, which provides the ability to remove any of the hardware from the Pelican, while still maintaining a strong and reliable hold without worry of damaging the components while in travel.
