Overview / Usage

The objective of the Product is to improve the utilization of public transport in metropolitan cities of India. Following are some of the problems which are directly impacting the utilization of public transport systems: 1. Bus bunching 2. Unawareness of passenger count 3. Lack of robust feedback system for public transport 4. Difficulty for non-native people to know about buses and the route details 5. No rewards for regular passengers

We intend to provide a solution to the above problems to achieve better utilization.

In public transport, bus bunching refers to a group of two or more vehicles (such as buses), running along the same route, which were scheduled to be evenly spaced, but instead run in the same place at the same time. This occurs when at least one of the vehicles is unable to keep to its schedule and therefore ends up in the same location at a very close proximity (say few 100 meters away). No knowledge about the next bus and bus occupancy would lead to long waiting times and overcrowding. Passengers are totally unaware that another couple of buses are on the way! If we can inform the location and bus occupancy prior to the waiting passengers they can decide to board the buses accordingly. This ensures that there is even distribution of passengers across buses.

Mostly, the conductors and drivers are not given feedback. Few of them are really harsh and passengers find it uncomfortable to travel. This makes the passengers avoid public transport! We have integrated the feedback option about the travel and also rewarding system for regular bus takers and feedback providers.

Non-native people often find it difficult to understand the bus routes written in local languages, hence prefer using cabs, autos and personal vehicles. We provide a QR based system using which they can translate the names to English language.

So, we provide - Real time bus tracking for passengers to travel, real time occupancy update, feedback about the bus staff, rewards for passengers - All in one!

In short, we reduce pollution. We increase the usage of Public Transport. We keep the passengers updated. We keep the staff and passengers appraised!. We make all the stakeholders happy:)
