The Intelligent Shopping Trolley (IST) is the new concept aiming to help improve customer's shopping experience as to guiding customer to route to goods s(he) intends to buy, providing relevant introduction and advertisement when customer approaches and stares at specific goods, and automatic check-out by scanning the goods in the trolley to skip waiting in line. The IST will certainly be the essential assisting tool in the unmanned supermarket, as well as adding the value for traditional supermarket and shopping mall.

Compared to traditional shopping trolley, the IST will be designed with the additions of camera, handset, Wi-Fi and tablet etc. so that IST can detect the shopping area and specific goods that customer is looking at, know customer's needs, and therefore providing relevant guide and advertisement through the support of Wi-Fi connected backend.
