My concept is to make the best minimalistic gaming/design pc that I can and to power it with intel. I believe that the combination of an intel core i9-12900K and an RTX 3070 graphics card would make a superb and capable pc to fulfill this concept and I plan to integrate this into my build. ...learn more

Overview / Usage
I am an avid gamer with an undying passion for building pcs which has led me to pursue a career in computer science and engineering technology. I believe that this build would not only be an amazing way for me to showcase my skills and creativity when it comes to pc building but would also be a perfect opportunity to further my dream of going into the computer science field. I believe that the components associated with my conceptual design would provide for a powerful and sufficient pc not only for gaming but for design as well due to the capabilities of the RTX 3070 and the power of the Intel i9-12900K. I am also going for a more minimalist design in opposed to the common flashy and colorful gaming pcs that are ever so present today. With my first pc build I wanted to add as much RGB as possible and I believe that this change of pace will create a much cleaner and sharper looking pc that would look good in any setup, gaming or not. I have wanted to do a minimal design build for a long time, preferably with a clean white look, and saw this as a great opportunity to do just that! I take a lot of inspiration for this build from various builds by youtuber (and overall tech god) LinusTechTips. I am a massive fan of his work and the various inspired builds he has done and I will use a variety of his tips and methods in my build.
Methodology / Approach
I plan on visualizing my pc through various images that showcase the components inside as well as giving an idea of the clean and minimalistic design I am aiming for with this build. For my initial concept I included screenshots from the game "Pc Building Simulator" to show an idea of my build using the parts I have chosen or, if not available in game, the parts that are available that most closely resemble my chosen parts so that I can have an idea of what my finished build will look like. With the minimalist design the PC may not be as flashy as other builds but I believe that this draws more attention to the capabilities of the components inside and will really showcase what this pc is capable all the while being easy on the eye.
After ensuring that all of my chosen parts are compatible through a website such as pcpartpicker I will begin the assembly process while documenting the progress I make throughout my build. I believe that the best way to do this would be through videos that showcase the various steps needed to build my pc as well as including before and after pictures for comparison.
After the inital build is done, I will shift my focus on a clean and minimalistic, yet efficient and effective, look. I will do so by making sure all of my cables are managed in a safe and aesthetically pleasing way using cable straps. I will also make sure to display my peripherals in a way that they do not look cluttered on my desk but also so I have ease of access to them. I will be using a mount to keep my monitor on my desk so that I can adjust it as I see fit and also so I do not have to gave cables stretching across my desk so I can keep the neat and organized look I am aiming for.
I have built several pcs in the past, both for personal use and for my friends, so the build itself should not be too much of a challenge however I will take precautionary steps to ensure that the build is done in a manner that will not harm any of the components I will be using. Such precautions include making sure no static electricity can be transferred from myself to any of the parts and by making sure any potentially harmful materials such as liquids are kept away from the area that I will be building in.
Technologies Used
I have compiled a list on pcpartpicker of the various parts that will be used in my initial build to ensure compatibility and to organize my build to avoid any confusion or stress when it comes time to assemble my pc:
- For my motherboard for it's quad dim slots and its m.2 compatibility so that I can get the most storage and memory for my pc.
- The intel i9-12900K will be the perfect CPU to pair with my motherboard due to it's sheer power coming from it's 16 cores making it so that no matter what my workload is (whether it be gaming, design, or anything else) I'll be able to run all my needed programs with no issue.
- For my video card I have chosen the RTX 3070 due to it's capabilities allowing for both smooth and beautiful gaming as well as being able to flawlessly render 3d models for design.
- For my storage I plan on using a 1 tb ssd to minimize the boot up times and wait times for all of my uses for my pc, as well as giving me plenty of storage to be able to store all of the games and software I need to bring my dream pc to life.
- For my case I will be using the silent base 802 for it's almost completely silent internal fans and for it being the perfect size so that I have plenty of room for my build while not being too over the top when displaying my computer. I believe that the sleek design will help me create the minimalistic aesthetic that I am going for with my build and the color will fit perfectly with the clean white look I am hoping to achieve.
- For my memory I will be using 2 16 gb DDR4 Ram sticks totaling 32 GB of memory. This will ensure that I am will be able to run all of my programs without any negative effects on my pc. Pairing this with the i9-12900K will make for a powerhouse of a computer and will fulfill all of my gaming and design needs.
- The software I will use will be Windows 10 Pro for the extra security as well as blender to be able to create my 3D renditions and use them on my path to game design. I will also have gaming software such as steam so I can have all of my favorite games in one place making for the ultimate work/play pc.
- To cool my CPU I will be using a MSI MEG CORELIQUID S360 due to the fact that an AIO cooler such as the is one will provide for substantially cooler temperatures than a stock CPU cooler. Gaming and Design can utilize a lot of CPU power and having a good heatsink such as this one will be extremely beneficial in ensuring that my pc is staying cool while running all of the programs I will be using on my build.
- To power my build I have chosen a Seasonic FOCUS PX-850 Power Supply. I chose this power supply because the graphics card and cpu I will be using require a fairly decent amount of power and using an 850 watt power supply will ensure that I do not suffer from insufficient wattage in my build. The power supply is one of the most important components of a pc build and going with a reputable brand such as seasonic will insure that a catastrophic event such as a shortage does not occur.
- For peripherals I will be using a Corsair keyboard and a Logitech mouse as they are durable and arguably among the best brands in their respective categories. I also believe that these options will be perfect for the designated jobs for my build and will make a great addition to my overall setup.
