Overview / Usage

I didn't like any of the current computer cases on the market, so I decided to design my own. I could have chosen to build this case out of metal, wood, or acrylic, but being a 3D printing enthusiasts I wanted something that anyone could print at home. This is a larger project for anyone that wants a 3D printing challenge and is tired of overpriced computer cases. I think this case would be a great Lan Box with full size components, can hold a full length GPU, hardline water cooling, 360mm radiator, 3 x 120mm bottom intake fans, and a 140mm rear side intake fan, and full length 1000w+ PSU. Fitting components normal meant for a full ATX case in a box with the outer dimensions of 243x290x412mm and internal volume of 26.8L. The plan is to build this LAN case in intel blue and white and install a top of the line Intel CPU that normal needs a full size case to cool and pair it with a full size GPU that would get hot in any other small case but stays cool with this design. In order to cool the CPU, this LAN case will use a water cooler with a 360mm radiator that normally doesn't fit in this size of case, and four intake fans for a positive pressure design. Small cases shouldn't need to sacrifice performance and take crazy expensive custom parts just to save space, and this is what this setup will show.

Methodology / Approach

Spent at least a week researching measurements of every pc component and sketching out different way to orientate the parts in a box to be as small as possible. The hardest part was coming up with a design that has room for a 360mm radiator and can fit a GPU with a length over 330mm. I used Shapr3D to design and render the case and currently printing test prototypes on a Creality Ender3 3D printer. The design will be printed in four main parts, then assembled with m4 bolts, m3 screws, and side panel made from cut Lexan plexi-glass. Total PLA filament should be around 1.6KG and total cost of project under 70 dollars.
