Autonomous Delivery Drones in Disaster Zones
- 0 Collaborators
One of the biggest challenges of disaster zones is that the buildings can collapse and the interiors are GPS denied, so they are hard to access. This project aims at developing the software required to support delivery and monitoring drones in this environments using AI. ...learn more

Overview / Usage
Three robots will fly collectively. One of them will be the leader. The drones will pick up objects from the outside, fly through gaps (windows, entries to the building) and safely drop off the delivery inside. The delivery could be for example medicine or food for the people trapped in the building. The main work is focused on the navigation and autonomous vision based flight of the drones. For these machine learning and other artificial intelligence tools are being used. The work being done involves helping the vehicles identify the gaps and how to organise their collective motion.
