#DEVELOPERART DECEMBER CHALLENGE

Bob Duffy issued a challenge for Innovators & Ambassadors to create Twitter or Instagram posts of interesting, inspiring, beautiful, innovative, relatable or funny photos, GIFs, and videos that show off work in their creative pipelines throughout the month of December. BLACK BELT HIGHLIGHTS

Marco Dal Pino gave a demo on using AI and ML on IoT devices, connected or on the edge, hosted a session on digital information application for cloud and edge, and worked the Ask the Expert booth at Microsoft Ignite - The Tour. Martin Foertsch gave an AI demonstration and talk on Style Transfer at both AI DevCon EMEA and OOP Konferenz and gave a talk about machine learning on source code at Software Quality Days. Justin Link created Moving Day for the Global Game Jam.

INNOVATOR SPOTLIGHT

ASIA PACIFIC

Avirup Basu shared wrote an article on his Vehicle Advanced Monitoring System (VAMS) project. Manisha Biswas hosted 24-hour Hackstack-Innovacion 2019 hackathon. Pablo Farias Navarro had 85 new developers join his Unity Game Development Mini-Degree, 22 join Virtual Reality Mini-Degree, and 202 join Intro to VR Game Development. Risab Biswas hosted an Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit hands-on workshop at SIT, Siliguri where he three of his projects that use the technology: Plant Anatomy Identification, Plant Disease Identification and Treatment for Crop Quality Improvement, and Self-Driving Bot. Rishabh Banga’s shared his Customer Experience Plus (CEX+). Shriram K Vasudevan has a paper accepted as a forthcoming article for IJMEI, co-authored a book on [Internet of Things](http://www.inderscience.com/info/ingeneral/forthcoming.php?jcode=ijmei, had an article published in the IJEEI. Siddhant Agarwal was a hackathon juror for HackLeague 1.0. Sourav Lahoti hosted an IoT Solutions with Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit workshop.

NORTH AMERICA

Geeta Chauhan hosted the Decentralized apps Hackathon with 40 teams competing and 7 were shortlisted for the awards; see the the winning app video. Harsh Verma gave a post-CES workshop on driving innovation and accelerating IoT adoption and Buzz Sessions at CES highlighting Intel® Movidius™ technology and the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit. Justin Lassen showcased his VR audio library created in 2018 for the first time and discussed VR audio technologies at NAMM 2019. Macy Kuang talked about how to take an IoT prototype into production. Peter Ma made unboxing video of the Intel® Neural Compute Stick 2 powered by Intel® Movidius ™ Myriad™ X VPU and discussed his Clean Water AI project at Hackster.io. Rosemarie Day updated her project on analyzing deforestation and urbanization using Intel® AI technologies.

EUROPE, MIDDLE EAST, AFRICA

Antimo Musone shared several AI and IoT related posts on Twitter. Bob Raphtone Afwata participated in a VR brainstorming workshop with the UN-Habitat worldwide to discuss informal settlements in Nairobi including demonstrating how to use a Windows mixed reality headset. Eyal Gruss talked about creative machines at ISCMA 2019. Francesca Tosi was profiled for a blog post on Intel® Developer Zone. Marco Minerva gave a demo at both Digital Innovation Saturday and along with Riccardo Cappello worked the Ask the Experts booth at Microsoft Ignite | The Tour - Milan. Matteo Valoriani gave a four-day course on the theoretical and practical implementation of an AR/VR solution for the cultural heritage sector.

SOUTH AMERICA & CHINA

Alessandro de Oliveira Faria shared info on the Intel® Movidius™ Software Development Kit (SDK). Pedro Kayatt presented some of his experiences at the Games and VR venue at Cidade do Futuro, celebrating the 455th year from the founding of Sao Paulo City. Tom Xiong participated in several meetups, gave a workshop at 2019 Jan IoT Maker Night, and spoke at the 2019 AI Speech-AI IoT-Chipset Launch event.

STUDENT AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT

Amartya Ranhan Saikia created the Stanford AI class repositories, the first eight of which are public. Jay Shah shared his YouTube channel for machine learning for beginners. Kshitiz Rimal gave a talk on end-to-end deep learning using his cash recognition for visually impaired project – the overall development cycle covering ideation, data collection, model creation, evaluation, and deployment. Naeem Hadiq wrote a tutorial on how to configure Amazon Alexa on Raspberry Pi and then develop skills for it. Quoc-Tuan Truong co-wrote a paper for AAAI conference 2019 on VistaNet: Visual Aspect Attention Network for Multimodal Sentiment Analysis. Rajat Sharma gave a demo on the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit, Intel Movidious Neural Compute Stick, and face detection at the Machine Learning Developer Summit in Bangalore. Sri Harsha Gajavalli gave a crash course workshop at Machine Learning Study Jam. Rakshanda Agarwal shared two projects, DetectiveU and Mouse Free Gesture Control. Szymon Kocot gave a lecture on the importance of AI for modern mecture to the Medical Student Science Club at Silesian Medican University. Daniel Theisges dos Santos share his Brazilian ID Document project.
